Why do people think weed is bad?

Why is it that so many people are against weed? I think that weed is the eigth wonder of this world. I have never meet an angery stoner or a even a stoner that speeds. Most people that smoke are mellow free spirited type of people. I think that weed makes you calmer and a easier person to be around. So, why are so many people against it? What do you all think?

You said it yourself, MOST people who smoke are the calm type, it's the one or two that ruin it for everyone...
Most people who are against it, have never tried it, or tried it once and spewed or something. So they can't see the benefits only the liabilities.

Its the people that do the stupid shit while high that ruins it for us. For example, Awhile back, when I was living in Florida, there were these kids that got hit by a truck, because they were jumping down from an overpass onto an 8 lane highway, then running into the median, climbing back up, and doing it over and over. Well, when one of em got hit by a truck, he obviously died. In the autopsy, they found pot in his system, and also pot on his person. It was a big controversy down there, everyone was all shocked and wanting the police to crack down on controlled substances, when there wasn't that big of a deal until it happens. I dunno about you guys, but I don't run around in traffic while high, or while sober for that matter.

Not only that but it's illegal, that's why most people are so against it.

Wow, you all have really good arguments. Somethings just make me laugh, and a law banding weed is one of them. Think about it.....our government outlawed a PLANT, thats some funny shit. cause we live in a world of kaos. If Bush can smoke crack and be a president I can smoke weed and be a citizen. Our law makers pimp the drug stores with depression meds (xanax., zoloft) etc etc. and they all have every side effect short of bleeding out the eye balls.
It's all about money, it always is, no matter what. They make more money keeping it illegal. Those trumped up "don't do drug" ads make money on a drug war that will never be won. Our govt. profits. These 2nd rate gods will lead us to genecide one day with nuclear crap we paid for. We slave at work for this crap. I don't need any1 telling me what to put in my body. People are against weed cuz those same people have unfortunately been brainwashed by anti-marijuana propaganda raging the medias and never experienced the life of a stoner, therefore never using weed or only used it a couple of times and thought it was bad cuz it was their position in the first place; all of those who want to experiment, who want to alter their conscience, who are simply curious, who are expanding their horizons, etc. are the ones who soon turned into stoners because we didnt have any negative attitude towards weed in general, we realize that its actually GOOD for you! If everybody were stoners: more love, more peace, better society, no war cuz we would be too stoned to hate another culture... weed should definatly be legalized. It will never be legalized though, because the war on drugs is way too important for the government. Its not even about drugs, its about having control, giving more power to the authorities.. thats why its illegal.
