Amsterdam: The City where Dreams come true

Howdy, I'm an American and I love to visit Amsterdam. I lived in Europe while in the Army and for a few years after, and I LOVED to vacation in Amsterdam. I've only been there 10 times so maybe some others that have been there could share our knowledge of the Netherlands and help plan even better trips there.

I know 'High Times' magazine has the Cannabis Cup there evry week of American Thanksgiving, but have never attended. I've been there the week before and another year the week after. I know the week after some of the places still had some ultimate weed there they seem to grow just for the compitition. It's awesome.

is quite helpful to everyone. With information on almost anything available. Different knids of weed and coffeeshops and hotels ...

Don't forget that there are many coffeeshops outside the Red Light District, so enjoy your vacation and see the sites and smoke whenever you wish (no all places permit smoking, so just ask first).

The 'Get lucky Guest House' and the 'Centrum Hotel' are my favorite places to stay (so far) and I haven't had a bad experience in any coffeeshop nor smart shop yet.

I'm more than jealous, i live downunder. Australia, and have longed to sit in the back of an amsterdam coffee shop listening to music smoking a big spliff, and maybe some coffee.Ha, well done son sounds like an awsome time.
I've heard tales of walls of different strains , indicas and sativas and hundreds of types.
Sounds like a blast !!!

I thought that Cannabis was permitted in Australia. Some friends of mine have been there and said the weed was Okay and not tough to obtain. I've never heard of anyhwere (from a reliable source) have better herb then in Amsterdam, and I've talked with people from California (northern and southern), all across America, Canada, South Africa, England (I lived there for 2 years, amongst stoners), Germany, .. well the list goes on. Amsterdam just has the best weed yet (it still getting better).

By no means is pot legal or even decriminalised in australia, if you caught with over 30 grams, you are considered a dealer and that carries a max peanlty of about 15-20 years. If you have a little bit of personal smoke on you you can get away with a warning if you have never been caught before. But if you have had a few warnings already you are bound to spent the weekend in lock up, and it has to be a small amount.
I defy most laws here and grow it, smoke it at the beach, in the car. whereever. then again i've never been sighted for even a parking ticket, so i guess it's a good idea to keep your nose clean when mucking around with the green shit all the time.

I had some friends get married there. It's a great vacation spot, and very romantic. Get high together, doesn't hurt either.

well, ive been to amsterdam. once but i was with my parents. We passed by shops and they just wreak of weed, and coffee. its great. I planned with my parents to go work in Germany for a year once i grad. i will definatly visit amsterdam during cannibis cup.
