You did it-after a five year effort, medical marijuana has finally passed the Connecticut State Legislature. Last Friday night, the Senate passed HB 6715, the Compassionate Use Act, by a wide margin: 23 - 13. The bill has now been sent to Governor M. Jodi Rell. Thank you for all your hard work!
This is the final stage of this long fight, and perhaps the most important: the Governor has to sign the bill, or simply not veto the bill-and then medical marijuana will pass into law, making Connecticut the 13th medical marijuana state.
Governor Rell has not said whether she will sign, so we can't leave anything to chance. She needs to know how much support there is for medical marijuana access in Connecticut. Can you take two minutes to send the Governor a fax and follow up with a phone call? http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=31860&MS=CTmmj-060407-MySpace
This is the final stage, friends. Please help get HB 6715, Compassionate Use, singed by the Governor. Here are three things you can do in three minutes to make sure the Governor signs HB HB 6715:
1. Send a fax to Governor Rell: http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=31860&MS=CTmmj-060407-MySpace . Your message will carry even more weight if you personalize it.
2. After faxing this letter, please take one minute to CALL Governor Rell, and ask her to sign HB 6715. This will make a huge impact. In Greater Hartford, you can call (860) 566-4840. There is also a toll-free number: (800) 406-1527. The TDD number is (860) 524-7397
3. Forward this to five people you know in Connecticut, and ask them to take action.
Friends, we're almost there. Your work has paid off-now let's bring it home.
Thanks for all you do.

Cheers! Jodi Rell lives a few houses down from me, I should do a prank on her if she decides to veto the bill.
Wait - what was I just talking about?
